A former leader of the BNP in Stoke-on-Trent has quit his old party and is standing as an independent candidate in the general election.

Mr Darby said: "It should be obvious to everybody that this is somebody who's a bit disillusioned with the party, as many people within other parties become disillusioned, struck out for themselves and want to become an independent candidate."
"They've still got senior members of the BNP who will be candidates in the general election that have Nazi, Nazi-esque sympathies."If anyone should know, it's someone senior in the BNP... and that's a pretty damning criticism of the party.
