Matthew Single has been found guilty of a breach of the Data Protection Act 1998, and has been fined £200 for publishing the BNP's 2007 membership list on the Internet.
Taken from The Daily Mail:
District Judge John Stobart said: [...] It comes as no surprise to me that somebody to do with an organisation that prides itself on Britishness is in fact living off the British people on Job Seeker's Allowance and that is why the fine is so low as to be ridiculous.
Later in the article:
Outside court, Single said, "[...] The BNP at grassroots level has some very good and honest people, but I think at the top of the party it's very corrupt. It seems to be more to do with about trying to make money than about trying to serve local communities. It's turned into a cult where all the members look after one person, that being the party leader Nick Griffin."
The Guardian had this to say:
The BNP leader, Nick Griffin, claimed at the time to know the identity of a person who had leaked the information, saying it was a hardline senior employee who disagreed with the direction of the party and had left it in 2007.
